"La Escalera" and "I thought I would be home by 24" are an homage to immigrants, especially those who came to the United States at a young age. It is a dedication to those immigrants who are now coming of age and long for ‘home’, but realize it’s no longer a place but a limbo state; Ni de aquí, ni de allá.
